Costumer. Writer. Rollergirl.
I am a professional costumer designer and technician with over a decade of experience. I received my Masters of Fine Arts in Costume Design from Penn State in 2014, and I’m currently an instructor in a theatre department at a large state university and a free-lance designer. I’ve been a historical costumer for over fifteen years, and I love to research, learn, and share what I know with other people.
I currently live outside of Nashville Tennessee with my lovey wife, Mrs. Stitch. (Kate), and our three adorable and unruly cats. Mrs. Stitch also acts as my blog copy editor, costume fitter, and life-seize dress-up doll. I’m a very lucky girl.
I’m also a four year veteran of Women’s Flat Track Roller Derby where I became known as Whip Stitch and found myself growing stronger and braver than I ever though possible. Roller derby is rough, real, and incredibly empowering. I want to bring that attitude to costuming.
